DECATUR, IL… State Representative Regan Deering (R-Decatur) released the following statement following the Office of the State Fire Marshal’s (OSFM) announcement of the awardees of the Small Equipment Grant. The grant that allows fire departments, fire protection districts, and not-for-profit ambulance services throughout the state to purchase needed small tools and equipment, such as turnout gear and SCBAs.
In the 88th District, the awardees include Long Creek Fire Protection District, Bellflower Fire Protection District, Cisco Fire Protection District, Hammond Fire Protection District, Bement Fire Protection District, and Monticello Fire and Rescue Department.
“I am thrilled that fire protection districts in the 88th District are recipients of OSFM’s Small Equipment Grant,” said Rep. Deering. “This grant is well deserved and will help to cover the cost of small equipment that is needed to fulfill everyday tasks for fire departments, districts, and EMS services. Grants like this help to ensure that even the smallest of fire departments or districts can continue to operate and provide services across the state.”
